Congratulations to Antony R. Thiruppathi and Joseph Cirone on receiving an award from the Guelph-Waterloo Centre for Graduate Work in Chemistry and Biochemistry (GWC2). Antony R. Thiruppathi (Advisor: A. Chen) was awarded the Graduate Student Excellence Award - Guelph Campus of the GWC2. Joseph Cirone (Advisor: A. Chen) won the Graduate Seminar Prize - Guelph Campus and David Holden Memorial Scholarship of the GWC2.

Sharon Chen received Richard J. Kokes Travel Award!

Professor Aicheng was named as a new tier 1 CRC in Electrochemistry and Nanoscience

Congratulations to Professor Aicheng Chen for being "Named as a new Tier 1 CRC in electrochemistry and nanoscience, prof. Aicheng Chen studies electrochemical interfaces and is a leader in studying the application of nanoscience to energy, environment, food and medicine."

Zenyatta Adds Interconnected Reduced Graphene Oxide to Its Albany Graphite Product Development Pipeline

Zenyatta Ventures Ltd. has added Interconnected Reduced Graphene Oxide (IC-rGO) to its product development pipeline, working with Prof. Aicheng Chen. It was developed by Prof. Aicheng Chen and his team using graphite from Zenyatta’s Albany deposit, IC-rGO is a useful nanomaterial for energy and environmental applications.

X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy Upgraded

Profs. Aicheng Chen, Aziz Houmam, Jacek Lipkowski and Peter Tremaine were awarded an NSERC RTI grant ($149.9k) to upgrade the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy at the Electrochemical Technology Centre.

Zenyatta Adds Quantum Dots to Its Product Development Pipeline

Zenyatta Ventures Ltd. is partnering up with Prof. Aicheng Chen to develop Carbon Quantum Dots (CQDs) by using Albany Graphite. Moreover, Prof. Aicheng Chen's team successfully produced highly fluorescent CQDs with consistent properties.

Xin Chang was awarded an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship!

Congratulations to Xin Chang (Advisor A. Chen) for her NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship award. She will be joining Oxford University as a postdoctoral fellow.
